The Emergency Treatment Fund

Paul from Whakatane District

this is a new health development for the Eastern Bay of Plenty. The fund, which is a registered charity in Whakatane, is designed to help those who are financially disadvantaged with urgent health problems. The fund is designed to assist not only GPs, but the overburdened public health system by prioritizing urgent cases; which might have to otherwise wait many months to be reviewed and treated. The fund if it receives sufficient corporate and public financial support, will pay for urgent assessment by specialists and urgent investigations they may require. If there was someone who was interested in helping with administration, or has knowledge of fundraising, and would like to help for four hours a fortnight please contact me. Dr Paul Anderson
