A public drop-in session is being held on Thursday, December 5, at Tāneatua War Memorial Hall from 2.30pm-5pm. This is for anyone who wants to find out more about the proposed safety improvements and parking changes for the stretch of State Highway 2 within Tāneatua.

A public drop-in session is being held on Thursday, December 5, at Tāneatua War Memorial Hall from 2.30pm-5pm. This is for anyone who wants to find out more about the proposed safety improvements and parking changes for the stretch of State Highway 2 within Tāneatua.

The proposed improvements include a new flush median through the town, two new pedestrian refuge islands and pedestrian crossings, and narrowing the traffic lanes to encourage slower speeds.

This Sunday, between 6pm – 7pm, loud beeping will be heard across the country as the Emergency Mobile Alert system gets tested. This means if you have a phone capable of receiving the alerts you will get a message direct to your phone about the test.
