North Canterbury's new BMX track just a few sunny days away from opening
The completion of a world-class BMX track in Rangiora has been setback by wet weather, but riders could start using it soon.
North Canterbury BMX Club president Aaron Clark says he could not give enough praise to the volunteers and earthwork contractors Ongrade for their "amazing work on the project", but a spate of wet weather had put them behind schedule.
"We were meant to have all the asphalt completed before Christmas, but there was so much rain in December. Then we had a timeframe of the 14th of January, but of course we've had more rain so it's looking like February now."
