Just want to let everyone in the district know that the service at the Rangiora Shoe Lines is absolutely outstanding.
Bought a pair of shoes which proved to have a very small fault (rough eyelet which was scratching my hand when lacing my shoes up), which they had no hesitation in sending out to have fixed, no doubt at a cost to them, but it proved not very satisfactory. When I took them back, there was absolutely no hesitation at all, and they replaced the shoes without question. The staff were very understanding and helpful and just ........ NICE.
So don't bother to go to town - support your local shoe shop.
Thank you, ladies.

Today is Pink Shirt Day, a day where New Zealanders are asked to celebrate, speak up, stand together and stop bullying.

It started in a small town in Nova Scotia, Canada in 2007. Two students, David Shepherd and Travis Price, took a stand against homophobic bullying and mobilised their whole school after a student was harassed and threatened for wearing pink

Since 2012, Pink Shirt Day has been led by the Mental Health Foundation, with support from the Peace Foundation, RainbowYOUTH, InsideOUT, New Zealand Post Primary Teachers' Association, Youthline and Family Works.

And it's something close to my heart. So drag out your pink shirt today and stand shoulder to shoulder with us as we stand against bullying - of any kind, at any level.

We're all in this together and nobody's getting out alive, so embrace kindness, celebrate our diversity, and wear pink.

Not just today, but every day.

- Shannon
