We’re reaching out to businesses and local residents as we're currently a bit low on both Christmas food donations and funding for our hampers this year.

One simple way that would make a huge impact is by setting up a Christmas Giving Tree in your office or business, where customers and your staff can pop in a non-perishable food item or an unwrapped gift.

We’d love to help make it as easy as possible for your customers to spread a bit of Christmas cheer to local families in need.

KCA for the past 11 years (this will be our 12th year) provides food to feed 260 people at Te Rauparaha Arena on Christmas Day. Last year we were the main sponsors of this event.

Many thanks.

A trailblazing Māori scholar has finally received the recognition she deserves — nearly 100 years after her passing.

Mākereti Papakura, believed to be the first Indigenous woman to study at the University of Oxford, has been awarded a posthumous degree certificate.

Papakura sadly passed away in 1930, just weeks before she was due to present her thesis. Her research was later published as The Old-Time Māori — the first ethnographic study written by a Māori author.

We hope this brings a smile!
