Wednesday 1st October! These great guys set fire to stages and fill hearts with hope with their energetic and relatable alternative indie folk songs. Proud albino frontman Albi (Chris Dent), Pascal Roggen and Michael Young have crafted a stage show brimming with energy yet with pauses for reflection. The trio has a huge sound created simply by acoustic guitar, electric violin, double bass and three voices. Since 2014, Albi & the Wolves have gone from strength to strength touring Australia, New Zealand and Rarotonga. In 2018, they took home the Best Folk Artist Award at the NZVMAs. The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
