Shopping Electrical Safety
When shopping online take care that goods you’re buying are suitable for New Zealand voltage and frequency (230 V and 50 Hz). Also check that it has a New Zealand plug. Cheap products on the market may be unsafe and may not compliant with New Zealand’s electrical and gas safety regulations. Do your homework before you buy – it’s worth checking the history of the manufacturer and seller first, and remember it’s illegal to sell gas and electrical appliances in an unsafe condition.
