We are loving the new features of Google Meets which give lots of different possibilities for interactive and creative online lessons. Thanks Marsden whānau for your positive feedback re our Remote Learning programmes, we will keep it up as long as we need to!! Staff and teachers are available to support you, and a huge shout out to our seniors who are keeping the whole school connected with their fun videos, challenges and running their care groups.

For example, you could host an online catch up or quiz, call a neighbour who lives alone, challenge your family and friends to try a new hobby or move your body more to improve your own well-being. If you or someone you know is going through a rough patch, don’t forget you can call or text 1737 anytime for free support from a trained counsellor.

“I wanted to give an update on how “Clarence”—now named Moose— is settling in. He’s such a relaxed cat! He’s become very attached to our 14m old lab/collie mix and they play together really well! We had hoped they would get along, as he had been fostered with a dog, but it’s been great to see them bond so quickly. Moose has also bonded strongly with my partner and I, falling asleep on us while we work and my partner even moves his little bed onto his desk while he’s in meetings working from home. Hope you guys enjoy some photos.”

There’s officially less than a month to go until our End of Winter Market – September 25th will be a day to celebrate! We will run this event under alert level 1 or 2. Fingers crossed! Head along to the Northland Memorial Community Centre’s Main Hall to browse a variety of stalls showcasing Wellington’s talent. As you can see on our Facebook page, we’ve got stall-holders selling locally made goodies; from art and sustainable crafts to pottery, soap, candles, waffles, cacti and more! Plus, the DOPE food and drink trailer will be serving up delicious coffee and the perfect snacks. Yum! There’ll be face painting and more to keep the kids entertained, and performances from our regular users. With the winter chill easing off, it’s a great chance to get out in the community. Bring everyone along – family, friends, neighbours – and we’ll see you there!
