It will mean a representative from each of Wellington’s two iwi – Te Āti Awa Taranaki Whānui and Ngāti Toa Rangatira – is appointed to all of the council’s committees and subcommittes by July next year.
Iwi representatives will be paid and have voting rights except at meetings of the full council, which can overturn decisions made by council committees.

The new law states:
Landlords cannot increase the rent within the first 12 months of the tenancy starting, and then only once every 12 months.
Previously you could do this every 6 months.
Currently, due to COVID we are still in the government's freeze of any rent increase, but that will finish on September 25th, 2020.
So, if you are wanting to increase the rent at your property you can serve your 60-day notice now as long as it has been 12 months or more since your tenants moved in or the last increase.
If anyone needs help with understanding the new law or with any rental inquiries please feel free to call me on 0274888933

Event manager Michael Jacques, said the decision to cancel was disappointing, especially for the runners who had been training, but they needed to turn their attention to the 2021 event.
The 2250 registered runners would not be receiving a refund, but would be able to enter for free next year.
Jacques said the decision to cancel was "especially gutting" as it was the 35th anniversary of the marathon, which is the longest running running event in Wellington.
