Tawa On Demand coming soon
Tawa’s a top place to live, but the hills are steep and getting around isn’t always easy…until now.
Tawa On Demand is launching soon. It’s a pilot service where you book, pay and ride via an app and it picks you up at virtual stops every 100 metres throughout Tawa. Average wait time is 10 minutes.
There are four 17-seat vans. Each van can carry one wheelchair operating between 6:30am and 7.30pm Mondays to Fridays, and 8:30am to 9:30pm on Saturdays.
See website for Peak and Off-Peak Service details. Whether you’re going to the train, bus, shops, doctors or the bakery, Tawa On Demand gets you.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
