For many superannuitants like myself daily life has gone quiet. No visits to friends and family, no outings other than local walks. Some of us will be saving money, expecially on petrol, and on treats such as coffees, eating out, and entertainment. It's a good time to think of those who aren't so lucky, and in particular children living in poverty. If you have money to spare - however little - go to the Share My Super website sharemysuper.org.nz..., where you can donate to a variety of charities with a proven track record in helping children in poverty. It's very simple to donate, and all the money goes straight to your chosen charity. There couldn't be a better time to help.

Poll: Would you participate in local initiatives aimed at stopping plastic from reaching our oceans?
Volunteers will be scouring the foreshore, riverbanks, and islands for rubbish on Saturday the 13th as part of the Clean Up the Hutt event.
This initiative helps stop plastic from reaching our oceans and makes our waterways cleaner and safer for everyone.
