Tulips in Tawa
Almost all of the 2,500 tulips we planted in autumn are now in bloom and they look amazing! If you havent seen them yet please come along to 34 St Johns Tce Tawa and enjoy the colour schemed glory.
If you saw them in the first week then we urge you to revisit as there are literally hundreds more in flower now than 2 weeks ago. The Persian carpet border is ablaze with the richness of reds, oranges and blacks. The chess topiary garden is looking crisp in black and white and there is so much more so please do come and enjoy them with us today. The sun is shining at the moment but who knows how long that will last. This may be your last chance to see the garden this year.
Unlike other gardens which charge an entry fee of $10 to $20 per person we would like to keep this event entry by donation so no one is excluded. Tulip bulbs are very expensive however so if you love them and would like to see this display continue in future years we suggest a donation of $5 to $10 per adult please. We are also raising funds for the Wellington Hospital eye clinic so will be forward donating a percentage of your generous donations.
Many thanks
Hope to see you soon.

Wellington’s identity is built on its cafe culture, but with costs climbing, that culture is under pressure. We’ve seen the headlines about recent closures, and it’s a tough pill to swallow along with a $6+ coffee.
We all want our favourite spots to stay open, but we also have to balance our own budgets ⚖️
We want to know: How are you handling the "coffee math" in 2026? Are you still heading to your local for a chat and a caffeine fix, or has the cost of living changed your habits?
