✨ Petone closing down SALE on now ✨

The Team from

It’s with a heavy heart that we share the news that our Petone SPCA Op Shop in Wellington will be closing down permanently on the 31 July 2022, due to our lease expiring. However this makes it possible for us to explore growth new op shop locations in the Wellington area, as we look to open more stores in the near future for the Wellington community.

Everything in our Petone Op Shop is currently on sale, with prices slashed from now until our closing date. Everything MUST GO before 31 July 2022. We will continue to gratefully accept items donated for the animals in our care, including blankets, towels and pet toys for our SPCA Wellington Centre – but please be aware that we will not be accepting donated items for resale.

Please consider shopping, donating or volunteering to our other local SPCA Op Shops in the area at:
🐾 Lower Hutt Op Shop, 6 Pretoria Street, Hutt Central, Lower Hutt 5010
🐾 Johnsonville Op Shop, 70 Johnsonville Road, Johnsonville, Wellington 6037

We’d like to thank you for many years of support at our Petone Op Shop, and helping to raise money for animals in need. Thank you for your sup-PAW-t Wellington 💙

Poll: Should we ditch daylight saving? 🕰️

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

First introduced in New Zealand in 1927 with the passing of the Summer Time Act, it's what we know as 'Daylight Saving' and this year it ends on the first Sunday in April.

While we do get to sleep in this time around, some people would like to scrap the clock tinkering for good.

And why? Some evidence suggests the time changes are bad for our health as they mess with sleep patterns leading to short-term fatigue and affecting mood. Meanwhile the hour change is frustrating for farmers and a nightmare for getting the littlies to sleep. But what's your take?
