Volunteers Needed Please
Public announcement from Manawa Karioi
We have some large pines scheduled to be removed near the base on Monday 17th March (all day) at Manawa Karioi Ecological Restoration Project.
We need some volunteers to help us man the tracks in a morning or afternoon shifts for the safety of our walkers and dog walkers.
We will provide chairs, you just need to bring water, snacks and a good book to read.

FREE 10-liter emergency water bottles
Merry Christmas -
I have around twenty, empty 10-liter distilled water bottles to serve as emergency water storage. I saved them for my friends, but they already have their own water supplies. Take as many as you like. Please respond to this notice if you are interested.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
