Start the Christmas Season Well!
Christmas time needs to be done well! To get you started we've got some special stuff planned in Island Bay: at St Hildas (311 The Parade). Sunday at 10.00 am is "STIR-UP SUNDAY" - a family focussed celebration involving something to do with Christmas Cake I think. Then the week after it is the annual Island Bay Community Carols on the Lawn at the back of St Hildas (3rd Dec). A special family affair - with games from 4.00pm, FREE Sausage Sizzle from 5.00, and Carols from 6.00 pm. Hosted by the Island Bay Churches. For more info see the poster attached.
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
