Oriental Parade work getting under way from 10 September
Work on Oriental Parade (between Herd Street and Freyberg) will begin on Monday 10 September. We're changing the layout on the road side of the trees to provide more space for people. If you're on bikes or foot you can still use the shared path on the seaward side. Most angle parking between Herd Street & Freyberg Pool will be unavailable while the work happens (temporary mobility parking will be provided). Work is scheduled to finish in December. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

FREE 10-liter emergency water bottles
Merry Christmas -
I have around twenty, empty 10-liter distilled water bottles to serve as emergency water storage. I saved them for my friends, but they already have their own water supplies. Take as many as you like. Please respond to this notice if you are interested.
