Call for exhibitors ~ Open art exhibition "For Compassion's Sake" (30 Sept - 7 Oct)

Administration Team from Island Bay Presbyterian Church

"For Compassion's Sake is an open non-juried exhibition of art work in 2D or 3D format on the theme of compassion, to run alongside CompassionFest (5th-7th October).
The CompassionFest has been organised by the Island Bay church communities with the exhibition itself being curated by Ian Logan.

All proceeds (apart from the artist’s share) will be donated to the Suzanne Aubert Soup Kitchen.

"In this festival we are hoping to re-tell a story of compassion based on the life and actions of Mother Aubert, with a hope of generating a new vision both for a compassionate future for Aotearoa New Zealand and providing a framework for behaving in more compassionate ways in our daily lives."
Would you like to enter? Contact Island Bay Presbyterian Church at office@ibpc.org.nz or 383 8699 for an electronic entry form.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!

FREE 10-liter emergency water bottles

Michael from Newtown

Merry Christmas -

I have around twenty, empty 10-liter distilled water bottles to serve as emergency water storage. I saved them for my friends, but they already have their own water supplies. Take as many as you like. Please respond to this notice if you are interested.

Best wishes - Michael
