Tawa Tawa Reserve Dog Park Poison beware
New bait station adjacent plant reserve beware. Assume this is the highly ecotoxic brodifacoum so haven't the council learnt from when a dog almost died a few months ago. This poison is scattered by animals and there is an additional risk of secondary poisoning. Its especially deadly to birds. Residual traces are found in living birds through secondary poisoning years after application and its classified as a superwarfarin by NATO.
"Brodifacoum is highly toxic to mammals and
birds. A number of non-target mammal and bird
species have been contaminated with brodifacoum,
either directly through consuming baits, or
indirectly through secondary poisoning "
