"The morning just got better and better for me, thanks to Nycki Proctor who messaged me to say that a hawk had got into her neighbour's empty aviary through an opened door and couldn't get out again and did I want to come around and photograph it?
Apparently it had got in before through a hole in the wire which had since been fixed up but it was still trying to get out that way!
Luckily it was still in the aviary, even with the door wide open, so I took lots of photos of it before we decided that I needed to climb up the ladder and prise open the mended part for it. After I got down, it was still in the aviary so I just kept snapping away at it till it figured out how to get out again. It then did a bit a circle around the house to say goodbye before it flew off into the distance.
A lovely way of getting myself invited for a coffee and a good old chat!
I have since been made to realise that this is a falcon/karearea."

I may look like a typical wild rabbit, but I can assure you I am not. My Mum was a domestic rabbit and super sweet. I am good with people I know, and am still young and still learning. I have an inquisitive nature and would love a home with people who will have me around them, either as a solely indoor rabbit, or mostly indoors. I will need a large outdoor area with a weatherproof hutch or shelter for days when the weather is nice. I will need to be inside as part of the family at night, so a hutch or area inside with you is important. I would also like a female rabbit for company, so if you have a lonely rabbit maybe we could be friends?

With the project on Cobham Drive now complete, the same Downer crew will make a start on construction through the Miramar cutting.
The new paths will make it safer and easier to walk and cycle in this busy area and provide a connection from the Cobham Drive end of Miramar Avenue.
From Shelly Bay Road there will be a separate 2m-wide footpath and 3m-wide two-way bike path through the Miramar cutting. The two paths will merge into a 5m-wide shared path near Maupuia Road that continues to Z Energy, to create a slow zone towards the shopping area.
Deputy Mayor and Portfolio Leader for Walking and Cycling Sarah Free says the project is an important part of Wellington City Council’s network delivered as part of the Urban Cycleways Programme, and will provide another key connection in the bike route around the harbour from the east.
