CUSTOMHOUSE QUAY - WATER OUTAGE AND TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT

Wellington Water from Wellington Water

Due to urgent pipe repairs, water has been shut off to Customhouse Quay, Waterloo Quay, Featherston Street, and parts of Waring Taylor, Johnston, Brandon, and Panama Streets.

In order to undertake the repair, two northbound lanes have been shut on Customhouse Quay.

Crews are working to repair the pipe as soon as possible, and the issue is expected to be resolved late this afternoon.

Until then, to reduce traffic congestion, please avoid Customhouse Quay and the surrounding area.

Water Tankers are parked on Hunter Street, Lady Elizabeth Lane and Waring Taylor Street – please bring your own containers.

For more info, please see Wellington Water on Facebook.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
