Just for a change - this morning's Spin Poi is a sing-a-long

Deb from Kilbirnie

Or at least, to a selection of old time sing-a-long favourites. The singing is totally optional! If you haven't tried Spin Poi yet because you thought the music wouldn't be you, today is your chance. Strathmore Park Community Centre, 11am, $2.

Spin Poi is inspired by traditional poi, but has been adapted to be a safe and effective exercise for seniors and the whole family. Spin Poi can be done sitting, standing or moving. So all ages and levels of ability are welcome. It's an excellent workout for the body and the brain as well as being lots of fun.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
