Another Neighbours Day event in Strathmore Park! Meet, Eat and Greet! Bring a plate and shared lunch at Raukawa Reserve this Saturday 30th March, 12-2pm. This is the perfect time to come along and meet your Neighbours, coming together to be a supportive community for all of us!

Cooking classes start this week. If you haven’t signed up already there still may be room.
Kahungunu Mana Wahine Workshop starts again this Wednesday March 27th, 12-2pm. Come along for a supportive environment with the incredible team that are here to help you grow through your inner struggles.
This Friday Mosaics with the 'Skills for life' team, for the last 3 weeks of Term. Bring a pot, frame, or any structure that you would like to decorate. A great gift for yourself or someone you care about. And Stitching Lounge with Cathrine. Coming soon on Fridays also – Crafty Volunteers of New Zealand Charitable Trust will be here for some Crotchet and knitting skills to teach.
One of our local Beekeepers, Brittany is back! Brittany will be here at our Monthly Community Gardening working ‘bee’ ;) Saturday 6th April, 10.30am. If the weather is good, she will bring her bees!

DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.
Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.
For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.
Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature — and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?
