Diversion of cyclists onto Coutts Street away from Leonie Gill cycleway.

Peter from Rongotai

In 2015 the Council proposed removing parking along Coutts Street in order to encourage cyclists to ride along Coutts Street instead of the dedicated Leonie Gill Cycleway that was completed in 2014 at a cost of $600k.

As a result of feedback in 2015 this proposal did not go ahead and now the council has decided to proceed.

Most people affected by the proposed changes to the Coutts Street cycleway did not submit submissions as it was assumed the 2015 decision would stand.

If you are affected by the proposed changes i.e. you drop off or pick up boys at Rongotai College, drive along Coutts Street or park on Coutts Street make your opinions known via the Council website.

Please make others affected aware of the proposed change and encourage them to make their opinions known to council.
