ANZAC Day memorial service in Island Bay. 12 noon, 25th April, at Island Bay School.

The wider community are invited to the Island Bay ANZAC service. This service follows a recognised programme, including:
Welcome
National Anthem
Breaking of the flags
Guest speaker
Traditional ANZAC hymn
Prayer
Attendance at the school's memorial
Laying of wreaths
Bugler
Blessing.

This ANZAC service is hosted by the Island Bay Ministers' Assn, Tapu Te Ranga Marae and the NZ Returned Services Services Association.

The 25th of April was officially named Anzac Day in 1916. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.
