KOKOMAI - Wairarapa's Creative Festival is on 10-19 Oct CHECK IT OUT

Every two years KOKOMAI is held next door to you! Kokomai is an inspiring, edgy and diverse Creative Festival for the Wairarapa region: music, theatre, dance, visual arts, film and literature. Events are located across the region, from rural halls, churches and larger venues such as the Carterton Events Centre.
Festival highlights this year include Wonder Wombs, a gutsy seven-strong cast, featuring some of Aotearoa’s favourite performers from the circus, theatre, and dance worlds and Scottish folk band Shooglenifty. ‘Readers & Writers’ literary Festival as part of Kokomai 2019. will hosting a wonderful line up of authors this year, from Mike Chunn (former Split Enz member), to Marilyn Waring, and accomplished novelist Paula Morris. Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
