New homes to replace George Porter Tower
Wellington's George Porter Tower is a pile of rubble.
Completed in 1978, the ten storey high social housing complex was operated by Wellington City Council. Kainga Ora (formerly Housing New Zealand) is planning 300 new homes, including 40 units dedicated to supported living. Completion is due in 2023.

Police are appealing for information to locate 14-year-old Colin, who has been reported missing in Titahi Bay.
He was last seen at around 6.15pm, Monday 4 November. He was wearing a khaki green sweatshirt and black-and-white striped basketball shorts, and riding an e-bike.
