Level 3 - and international connections!
One of the benefits of meeting online that we may not have considered is the chance to welcome guests from around the globe.
Last night we met Krish, from another Newtown Toastmasters Club (in Kolkata, India), and Marcus from Düsseldorfer Toastmasters in Germany.
With our move to Level 3 yesterday, Lisa's Table Topics got us thinking about our priorities! Our prepared speeches also touched on topics that have come to the forefront during lockdown - food and time.
Hope to see you at our next meeting on 12 May - also our Annual Business Meeting when we'll elect a new committee :)

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

FREE 10-liter emergency water bottles
Merry Christmas -
I have around twenty, empty 10-liter distilled water bottles to serve as emergency water storage. I saved them for my friends, but they already have their own water supplies. Take as many as you like. Please respond to this notice if you are interested.
Best wishes - Michael
