Common Unity Project - growing the dream tream
We are a community-based, urban village programme growing food, skills, leadership, community-owned, social enterprise with local families. Our home in Epuni, The ReMakery provides opportunity for employment development, skills development, place of learning, place of manufacturing from waste reincarnation, returning all profits to development of local food projects across the Hutt Valley.
We have 11 urban farms growing food that is crafted into gorgeous meals for the community to purchase. For each meal sold another is gifted to a child at one of our 4 partner schools.
We have an amazing, but small group of passionate dedicated staff supported by a large pool of wonderful volunteers. We desperately need funding support to ensure we can continue to employ our staff to ensure this community regeneration work can continue and grow.
Loki: lost 3 leg cat from Te Wharepōuri Street
Loki is up to his old tricks and has gone awol again. The last time was around 2.5 years ago when he was found inside a wall cavity in the Satan Slaves compound. He is an 8 year old lilac Burmese. This means he’s a kind of beige colour. With amber eyes. He’s missing his right front leg.
He’s likely to be shut in a shed or under a house in either Te Wharepouri street, Luxford or until between Luxford and te Whareouri St.
If you can take a look in any shut sheds, outside laundries or under houses cavities. Any 3 leg cat who can make his way into a roof cavity and then down into a wall can get stuck anywhere.
The Great Wall is closing
The Great Wall Takeaways is closing this Tuesday for the last time, as the owners are retiring. The Hataitai Hot Bread Hop is moving in from next door.
