One of the world’s best-loved musicals, CATS, will embark on its most extensive tour of New Zealand ever in 2019. Bagging multiple awards, including Best Musical at both the Laurence Olivier Awards and the Tony Awards, CATS is considered among the all-time favourites of musical theatre fans.

This new production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber masterpiece will visit 16 cities nationwide in April and May. As well as, being the first major theatrical performance at the $127.5 million refurbished Christchurch Town Hall it will also visit Auckland and Wellington and many of the larger regional theatres throughout New Zealand - details below.

Since its world premiere, CATS has been presented in over 30 countries and has been seen by over 73 million people worldwide. CATS is based on Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot. The musical tells the story of a tribe of cats called the Jellicles and the night they make what is known as "the Jellicle choice" and decide which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life.

Suzuki Method Guitar Lessons available in Wellington Central!

Royden Smith
I am a graduate of Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music, having completed my Bachelor of Music (First Class Honours) in Classical Guitar. I grew up surrounded by music and I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for guitar. My lessons cater to each child and focus on encouragement, enjoyment and ensuring progress.
Since graduating, I have continued training towards my New Zealand Suzuki Institute qualifications and I am motivated to bring Suzuki guitar back to Wellington and thrive in the community.

“Character first, Ability second” – Shinichi Suzuki

Suzuki Method
Royden’s Suzuki Guitar Studio follows the pedagogy of Dr Shinichi Suzuki, providing a nurturing environment that develops the whole child, through music. Suzuki discovered that all Japanese children are able to speak Japanese with relative ease. By creating a respectful and nurturing environment, any range of ability, discipline, and beauty within every child, can be cultivated to ultimately improve the human condition, whether it be language acquisition, or learning to play an instrument.

“Where love is deep, much can be accomplished” – Shinichi Suzuki

Knowing your neighbours is one thing, but actually spending time together is to write a much richer story together... an opportunity to have fun, learn more about each other, and recognise that the strings that connect us often run much longer than just the length of our streets.

This month is all about bringing your community together and having a great time! We want March to be all about celebrating the connections we have while making new ones along the way. As we all know, what makes a neighbourhood great isn't the houses and cars, gardens and streets - it's the people who share their presence and aroha with each other.

A wonderful way to take part is to participate in Neighbours Day Aotearoa which is celebrating it's 10th anniversary from March 22nd to 31st. To help you get started, we love their suggestions for 10 little and 10 big ways to get involved. (link below)

Let us know how you're celebrating this month by tagging us in your posts + using the following hashtag so we can see what you get up to:

We've all got something to offer, from using our party organising skills to ensure everyone on our street has a place to sleep, to offering up some of those tools in the shed to help some neighbours make temporary repairs.
