The plan outlines the company’s new vision for the earthquake-damaged port, which finalised a $667 million insurance payout in October last year for claims made following the 2016 Kaikōura quake.
CentrePort chief executive Derek Nind told key players at Wellington’s waterfront on Thursday the “medium-term” vision would drastically transform the area around Waterloo Quay, with public access to new low-rise buildings and green spaces.

"I am a lovely girl, although a little shy to start with, I warm up quickly once I know I am safe. I am looking for a loving home where I will get spoilt rotten. If you can offer me a wonderful life I would like to meet you. I seem to like the other cats I live with, and I really get on with Wendy, so if you were looking for a pair of cats, maybe you could consider both of us? We would do best in a quiet home, but once settled I will make a wonderful member of your family."
