Rotary Club of Wellington run Jumbo Tennis, a fun competitive event where teams use large tennis rackets. This is being held on Friday 1 March, 12-5pm at the Renouf Tennis Centre. 100% of the profits will go to the Wellington Children's Hospital and for Wellington youth mental health. They have many volunteers involved in this event, but are short a few umpires. - The Wellington District police Facebook page said officers were responding to an incident at an address on High St in Taitā at 9.30am and placed nearby schools into lockdown as a precaution.
- The intermediate said on Tuesday morning on its website it has gone into lockdown because of a police-related incident. A police spokesperson confirmed there is no threat to the school.
- Residents are asked to stay indoors or avoid the area.
