Johnsonville section sells for $1 million
Would you pay $1 million for a section in Johnsonville?
Number 78 Fraser Avenue – “classic, central Johnsonville” according to one real estate agent – was bought by Henry and Maude Stephenson in 1961. That’s so long ago the purchase was made in pounds rather than dollars.
The land has sat unused ever since, sometimes overgrown with gorse. But not for much longer, perhaps. The section has just sold for $1.03 million.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
