Meals on Wheels Delivery Drivers needed for Brooklyn run
Meals on Wheels is a valuable community service made possible thanks to a team of volunteers who deliver food during weekdays to seniors and the housebound throughout wider Brooklyn. Delivery drivers pick up the meals from the Brooklyn Community Centre in Harrison Street from approximately 11:15am - 11:30am and then go out on their run which takes around an hour and a half. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
