Next week contractors will be completing resurfacing work on a section of Willis Street from Monday 1 March - Wednesday 3 March.
The work area will be between Webb Street and Karo Drive and work hours will be between 7pm - 6am.

The area will be stop/go to traffic and pedestrians and cyclists will still be able to use the route.
Bus stop 6782 will be temporarily closed during work hours but otherwise bus services will run as usual.

We recent featured a photo sent to us from Robina Davies who was trying to identify those in the picture from her mother's collection.
Her mother was Olive Whitelaw, who played cricket for Wellington Technical College Old Girls. She suspected it might be from before 1939.

Her mother was Olive Whitelaw, who played cricket for Wellington Technical College Old Girls. She suspected it might be from before 1939.
Journalist and sports historian Ron Palenski has come up with a name for us.
"I'm pretty sure the pic is of Violet Aline Caton and Stuart Dick on their wedding day at All Saints', Kilbirnie, on Feb 26 1944.
The big clue was women in the uniform of the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps presenting a bouquet of vegetables; another clue was that it was most likely a newspaper photo because of the quality.
Stuart Dick is wearing an RSA badge in the photo. He was a sergeant in the 25th Battalion."
He even attached a picture of the gravestone.
This could be a toughie but for a hint, it is one of Wellington's most well known buildings.

They were wearing white and yellow Japanese fortune charms as in the photo (left) and were in a blue drawstring bag (right top). There is also a small tag “NativeZ Made in New Zealand” (right bottom) attached to them.
They have been with us for over 15 years since our first visit to NZ and have shared all the memories of our life in Aotearoa.

Clean soft furnishings regularly according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This usually involves a regular light vacuum, with less frequent dry cleaning or laundering. Regularly clean windows and wipe down window surrounds and venetian blinds or shutters with a mild detergent in warm water.
Does the material of the curtains affect how much mould will grow?
Yes, consider selecting window coverings manufactured from man-made materials, particularly in damp areas such as the bathroom, kitchen and on south-facing windows. It’s best to use a wipe-able, water-resistant blind or shutter in wet areas like bathrooms and kitchens. Even man-made fabrics don’t cope well in those environments.
How do I remove the mould?

The dog shelter, which has been on site for 53 years, is getting an upgrade to its facilities and security systems, including new cages, self-contained kennels, a plumbing refurbishment, and improved security cameras installed.

My ideal home would be one with a nice backyard, that is big enough for me to explore and potter around in the sun as I love toasting myself on a sunny day. I very much enjoy my daily walks so would love a family that would be keen to go out, explore with me and show me all the wonderful things out there. As I want to keep all the cuddles and tummy rubs for myself I am looking for a home as an only dog. Don't be fooled by my size, I can be cheeky and have jumped fences before, so am needing a home that has high fencing. I could live with older kids that are confident around big boisterous ladies like myself. I do however come with a medical waiver my new home would have to be aware of. You might remember that a few months ago Neighbourly featured a picture of Muhammad Ali holding a young baby in Upper Hutt.
That baby was Jason Tarawhiti, who lives in Hamilton and who cherishes that picture.
