Jenny Pattrick’s new play at Circa Theatre

Circa Theatre

Jenny Pattrick, one of Aotearoa’s most loved writers (The Denniston Rose) and director, Lyndee-Jane Rutherford (Prima Facie), present, HOPE, a family drama rising hot from within.

In the near future, a controversial government bill bars people with terminal illnesses from receiving treatment. Pianist Irina, a Ukrainian refugee, is cared for at home by her son with a dubious mix of natural and illegal remedies. When Irina’s feisty daughter returns from the war and a famous former pupil appears on their doorstep, hope and delusion blur together making us question the morality of fighting for your life and your loved ones.

On at Circa Theatre, 25 January - 23 February 2025.

Poll: Tightening the belt at the pump ... How are you pivoting? 🚌🚲🏠

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Between the headlines about the Strait of Hormuz and the creeping costs at our local stations, the "fuel crisis" has moved from the news to our wallets.

A recent opinion piece in The Post suggested that Wellington Councils should be shifting our public facilities to renewable energy ASAP to keep our rates from being vulnerable to these global fuel hikes. It’s a big conversation for the city, but what about your daily commute?

We want to know: With fuel prices staying high for the foreseeable future, are you changing how you get around the capital?

Got more greens than you know what to do with? 🥦🌱🥕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Whether it’s a courgette takeover or a feijoa frenzy, don’t let those garden gems go to waste!

Our suggestion to you: Did you know you can grate and freeze excess courgettes to use in chocolate cake later? It sounds a bit dodgy, but it makes the cake incredibly moist ... and hey, it counts as a serving of veg, right? 🍫
