Egg safety tips you should know.

Sumesh from Miramar

’To avoid bacterial infection, keep eggs refrigerated, cook eggs until the yolks are firm, and cook eggs-containing dishes thoroughly.’’

Eggs are a nutritious food that can be included in a balanced diet. However, there are other risks involved, and to be safe, eggs must be handled as unbroken, clean, and fresh. Both egg white and yolk are high in protein. Protein accounts for around 12.6% of the edible portion of an egg. Eggs are also high in vitamins A, B, E, and K. When dealing with eggs, it’s critical to practice good food safety.
Here are some good egg safety measures to remember.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
