Join us at the historic Inverlochy House for Expressive Creativity for Seniors. This is a free art course for seniors, taught by Cecilia Denen and supported by Wellington City Council, running from:
Fridays 10am-12pm 4-25August
No art experience needed
The mission of Expressive Creativity for Seniors is to help seniors explore and express their inner feelings and emotions through art making. These sessions will develop and deepen mindfulness, boost resilience and enhance creativity through art techniques. This supportive environment sets out to create a deep sense of community in the hopes of reducing feelings of isolation.

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
