Island Bay Festival - Day at the Bay with Whaitua

Community Engagement Advisor from Greater Wellington Regional Council

Poor water quality affects all of us - doing nothing is not an option.

Population growth and climate change are putting increasing pressure on our water supply and many of our water pipes are leaky or broken and will be costly to fix. A number of our urban streams and rivers are in poor health, are highly modified or are piped. Poor water quality makes our streams and rivers unsafe to swim and impacts mahinga kai (food).

Join the conversation on water with the Whaitua Committee! Pop over to our stall at the Island Bay Festival Day in the Bay 2020 on Sunday 9 February. See you there!

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.

Ruth from Aro Valley

Can anyone give advice on how to do this? I have already reported the interference to the neighbourly team.
