Successful rowing of Cook Strait!
They did it! Marsden's Director of Rowing, Rachel Gamble-Flint with Tina Manker (Onslow College), Johannah Kearney (Scots College), and Eleanor Morris (Wellington Rowing Club) made history on Friday, as the first all women crew to row the treacherous Cook Strait. Battling a persistent head wind and big swell the 94km row from Plimmerton to Picton took 11 hours of pure mental and physical grit and resilience. They undertook this epic challenge to raise funds for their mental health charity "Through the Blue" which aims to provide high school teachers with the resources to recognise the signs of anxiety and depression, in order to initiate early intervention and prevention. You can still donate. Congratulations!
