EMERGENCY WATER TANKS
We were taking orders for EMERGENCY WATER TANKS at our Karori Karnival on Sunday and we can still take orders until the end of this week.
If you would like to order a tank, or need additional information, please send us a Personal Message. Payment must be made via on-line banking before any order is put through to the supplier.
The following is the text of the flyer that was handed out on the day and provides the necessary information about the tanks:
Wellington’s geography makes our water supply network very vulnerable, so it will take some time to get water back into people’s homes after a large earthquake. Our communities need to store their own water to get through such events.
Councils across the Wellington Region and The Tank Guy have been selling household emergency rainwater tanks. For $120 Karori Lions are offering a 200 litre water tank with all the fittings needed to connect it to your downpipe. These tanks provide enough emergency water for a family of four for up to sixteen days, longer if it rains. A small proportion of the price ($20) will go to the Karori Lions Centennial Legacy Project which will be a Plant Conservation Laboratory at Otari-Wilton's Bush.
Tanks ordered today, at the Karori Lions Karnival, will be available to be picked up on a date and at a place to be advised to those who place such orders. We hope this will be in about a couple of weeks' time.
