Motorists are advised to avoid the Remutaka Hill due to weather conditions and an earlier crash.
What you need to know:
- One lane is closed on the south side near the summit after a truck trailer tipped just after 10am.
- High winds are making it increasingly difficult to travel over the hill.
- Police recommend delaying travel, taking alternative routes and extra care, driving to the conditions.

The Friday Drinks Group invites you to join them on Friday, 15/3, at its private, Pre-St. Paddy's Day Extravaganza at the Cavern Club Bar. For the last 6 years, Friday Drinks has met every Friday at a different bar and presently has nearly 4,000 members. Almost all of its members are over 30.
The Cavern Club is a basement bar modeled after the Cavern Club in Liverpool, where the Beatles first started in the UK. It reminds me of similar bars in New York and London. We will have the entire bar as a private event from 7:30 to 10:00, in addition to the cheapest specials on wine, beer, and house liquor in Wellington. At 10:00, the public will join us, and we can dance for free to one of the best danceable rock bands in town.

Rotary Club of Wellington run Jumbo Tennis, a fun competitive event where teams use large tennis rackets. This is being held on Friday 1 March, 12-5pm at the Renouf Tennis Centre. 100% of the profits will go to the Wellington Children's Hospital and for Wellington youth mental health. They have many volunteers involved in this event, but are short a few umpires.
