Sadly we've seen a spike in wildlife coming in to The Nest Te Kōhanga, the Zoo's wildlife hospital, with fishing hook and fishing line injuries this summer.

Our Vet team have been treating these patients and seen firsthand the devastating impact of these fishing hook injuries on our precious manu.

This is a timely reminder that if you are fishing along our coastlines, please remember to remove your rubbish and pick up any other fishing tackle you see around you.

Hi there my name is Simba, I am a big ole handsome man looking for my forever home.
I am a little shy and will tolerate gentle pants so I would love a quiet, patient home with no children (teenagers may be fine) and no other animals.
I would love a home where I can potter around and toast myself in the sun. I do come with a medical waiver that my new owners would need to be aware of.
If you think you are the home for me please contact the Feline Team at SPCA’s Wellington Centre.

There's a king-sized bed & huge ensuite, plus a fold-out bed in the lounge, a second bathroom, an excellent kitchen and a big deck. The complex has free use of mountain bikes, and has a swimming pool, 2 spas, a sauna, barbecues, and games room with table-tennis & pool table.

Unfortunately I booked the wrong week because I thought the school holidays started at Easter (but they don't), so message me to take our place!
