Sewage system upgrade update from WCC (28/01/2025)
Miramar's sewage precinct construction work progresses. This is especially of note to Brooklynites as the councils Southern Landfill currently hosts (to be moved by 2026) the sewage systems sewage sludge dewatering plant (SDWP). Essentially the processed sludge is buried at the council landfill. Hence the stench we (and other southern suburbs) are subjected to.
The sooner the new facility in Moa Point is completed, the sooner the Southern Landfill can "mothball"/close the current SDWP, and the fresher our air will be...
