Changes to kerbside rubbish and recycling collection days
Some kerbside rubbish and recycling collection days are changing in your neighbourhood.
If your collection day for Wellington City Council’s kerbside rubbish and recycling is Monday and you live in Khandallah, you may have received a letter explaining why your collection day is being moved to Tuesdays starting the week of Monday 8 July 2019.
If you do not use the Council provided kerbside rubbish and recycling collection service this does not apply to you.
This adjustment is necessary to improve the service you receive, by reducing the workload of our collectors on the Monday run, which will reduce missed collections in your neighbourhood.
The collection day change will be updated on the rubbish and recycling collection section of our wellington.govt.nz/collectionday |website|. But if you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact the Council on 04 499 4444 or email: wasteoperations@wcc.govt.nz with the subject matter ‘Collection Changes’.

Whether it’s a courgette takeover or a feijoa frenzy, don’t let those garden gems go to waste!
Our suggestion to you: Did you know you can grate and freeze excess courgettes to use in chocolate cake later? It sounds a bit dodgy, but it makes the cake incredibly moist ... and hey, it counts as a serving of veg, right? 🍫

We want to know: How are you handling the "coffee math" in 2026? Are you still heading to your local for a chat and a caffeine fix, or has the cost of living changed your habits?
