Marsden Old Girl Joanna Prendergast is The Cool Mum
It's fascinating what our Old Girls get up to! Joanna Prendergast is a Psychiatrist by day and a Comedian by night. She has been touring her debut solo comedy show "The Cool Mum" around the South Island since mid 2020, winning the Best Solo Show and Audience Fav at the Nelson Fringe Festival. The show is a parody of a celebrity parenting seminar and she is bringing it to the Wellington Fringe Festival in March. Joanna assures us she takes her day job very seriously, but her comedy persona, Jo Ghastly, is a different story.

How much does it cost to join AEA?
There are no dues or fees for joining AEA or attending AEA meetings. We are self-supporting through our own voluntary contributions. At some point during each meeting we pass the basket to help cover expenses, such as the cost of rent and literature. Members are not obliged to contribute, but we usually do so to the extent we are able.
