Heart of Gold Annual Appeal 2019
The year is going by fast and it's almost time for St John's 2019 Annual Appeal Week! Annual Appeal is our largest fundraiser of the year and we need all of the help we can get from volunteers who can help with collections around the Wellington Region on Friday 5th April and Saturday 6th April. All of the funds raised during Annual Appeal stay in Wellington and go towards running our community programmes including our Youth programme. Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
