Happy ending for a stray cat.
Hello neighbours,
I just wanted to shout out to those that stopped to aid the cat that was on the road on Ngaio gorge road this morning. Appreciate the assist. After visiting the After hours Clinic he was deemed to be in reasonably good health bar an abscess, a few scratches, bites and what not. Apparently not hit by a car (at least 1 of the 9 lives for sure!)
We have for the better part of roughly 7 years been keeping an eye on & looking after him... (as an out door cat as we have our own~strictly indoors)...and we're glad we did because he will now be reunited with his family.
The owner has been notified & they will be reunited. It has been around 10 YEARS or so.
He has had quite the journey over the years & believe his roaming days are done, ready for the family life again.
To the owner; He does have a few belongings If you'd like to pick them up; Feeding dishes, shelter & whatnot.
Call/text; 0297719913 & we'll sort something out.
Cheers guys!
~John

36.6% The sting of a fine (Money talks!)
-
63.4% The threat of demerit points (Nobody wants to lose their license!)

Some Choice News!
DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.
Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, weโre a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.
For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.
Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature โ and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?
We hope this brings a smile!
