The temporary road restrictions between … View moreOur crews have been undertaking work to improve the water supply network for Severn Street, Moselle Street, Derwent Street and Humber Street in Island Bay, known as the Severn Street Watermain Renewal project, which is now in Stage 2, and progressing well.
The temporary road restrictions between Robertson Street and Dennis Street are expected to remain in place for a few more weeks. The next step for this part of the project is to finish transferring properties to the newer watermain and tidying up the old pipework, and to do this we will need to schedule some planned water outages, and we will notify residents at least 24 hours before these take place via letter drops, and on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
Our crews have also completed the ground investigations for Stage 3 and will soon have completed the overall design. Work is expected to begin on this in September/October.
