Keen in getting your kitchen knives sharpen? Marcus can help

CK from Johnsonville

Even since my first posting 40 days ago, my autistic son, Marcus, had made many Neigbourly members very happy by giving their old kitchen knife a new sharp edge. His autistic nature is also his strength. He is anal in wanting to get it right. All the knives have to pass the "carrot" test.

If your knife is chipped or you have over use your only favourite knife until there is no bevel left, it is time to get it sharpen. See below the two knives - one is chipped and one has no bevel left.

The prices are below the market rate as we just want Marcus to enjoy doing what he does and also to meet the community. The money he earns will be another step for us to help him understand to manage his funds when he eventually gets a job.

$5 knife
$7 cleaver

Please PM me if you would like Marcus to sharpen your knives.

Poll: Are you still heading to your local for your caffeine fix, or has the $$ changed your habits? ☕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Wellington’s identity is built on its cafe culture, but with costs climbing, that culture is under pressure. We’ve seen the headlines about recent closures, and it’s a tough pill to swallow along with a $6+ coffee.

We all want our favourite spots to stay open, but we also have to balance our own budgets ⚖️

We want to know: How are you handling the "coffee math" in 2026? Are you still heading to your local for a chat and a caffeine fix, or has the cost of living changed your habits?

Keen to read more about "coffee math"? The Post has you covered.
