In accordance with Central Government advice, for the health and safety of staff and passengers, all Metlink bus drivers aged 70+ will not be part of operating our transport network at this time.

About 70 of Metlink’s 500 bus drivers are aged 70 or over and in accordance with the Ministry of Health guidelines, they are advised to remain at home. Less drivers means there will need to be cancellations to some services across the bus network.

We are currently looking at where cancellations will need to take place and are encouraging Metlink customers to keep up to date with service changes by checking Metlink’s website, App and Real Time Information screens.

Anne from Churton Park

I had a small courier parcel left in my letter box yesterday - no-one could have known it was there unless they followed the courier van - and as you can see it has been sliced open and the contents stolen! Demand is still tracking pretty high for this time of year – just look at the level of demand this year compared to the past two years!*

Supply from rivers in Wainuiomata has dropped out, and now we’re using a lot more water from our storage lakes.

Lake usage has averaged about 41MLD over the last week, and levels have dropped 9% in the last week.

Catchments are still very dry, and there isn’t much rain on the forecast! Please continue to observe water restrictions until they come off, and of course, always use water wisely.

*These graphs indicate demand in Porirua, Wellington, Lower Hutt, and Upper Hutt.
